How do you make decent videos?

I've just begun using videos and can't figure out how to get decent quality video and sound. I use a mini DV camcorder, because the CNET forums concurred they were best for undergoing compression (I don't know what compression is as it relates to video). The software is Pinnacle Studio 12. The only one I've uploaded to Vimeo makes me look like Gumby, kind of elongated, and some of the video itself looks like cable news when the weather gets bad.

I personally use Adobe Premier Pro but imagine Pinnacle has many of the same features. How is your video looking before compression while it's in Pinnacle? If the quality looks great there, the issue may be in your compression. Look for pre-defined settings in Pinnacle that specify compression for Vimeo. As long as you're uploading in that format, you shouldn't experience too much degradation on uploading. I was turned onto Vimeo because of the better image quality but now my video, with proper compression are looking great on YouTube as well.
As an extra resource, run a search within You Tube since there are some great resource videos there! Best of luck, Derec

Call in a pro like InTroubleZone Productions, they can do national quality videos on a local budget.

I just joined the company as an investor, but I also own a video production company.
